“But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.”
He was Pierce in His Side so that We may enter into the Glory. That was the “opening of the Door of Glory.
In Exodus 33 Moses ask Daddy God if he had found favor in His sight to reveal His Glory to him and Daddy God said the following in verse 21 “Behold, there is a place beside me, and you will stand upon the Rock (the Lord Jesus Christ). And when my Glory passes by, I will put you in the cleft of the Rock and I cover you with my hand while I pass by. And then I will remove my hand, and you will see my back but not my face.”
The word “cleft’ in the Hebrew means: to pierce, a cut, to rent, an opening, a tear, a break or split. And the 1 Corinthians 10:4 the apostle Paul calls the Rock the Lord Jesus Christ. The Rock was split, cut, pierce in His side so that we my access into the Glory of Daddy God. He wasn’t just crucified on the Cross for our sins but he was pierced so we may enter into Glory through him.
“And in accordance with the will of Daddy God, we have been made holy, consecrated and sanctified through the sacrificial offering made once for all of the body of Jesus Christ, the Anointed Rock.”
Hebrew 10:10 PAV
He became the Pierced Door / Open Door of Glory that gives us rest, peace and prosperity
“Everywhere you go the Glory of my Presence will be with you always, and in my Glory I will give you rest, peace and prosperity.”
Exodus 33:14 PAV
This is why baptism is not just a ceremony or ordinance but I believe it is a prophetic sacred moment where we descend into the waters of baptism, and we are really descending into him, back into his side. It is then we become hidden him and we see His nailed mark hands and His whipped scared back, and we are granted to behold His passion before we behold and live in His Glory.
“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Romans 6:3, 4
For you are dead, and your new life is now hidden with Christ in Daddy God’s glorious presence.”
Colossians 3:3 PAV
“Adam’s one sin brought the penalty of death to many, while the Pierced Rock Christ Jesus freely takes away all sins and gives a glorious prosperous life instead.”
Romans 5:16-17 PAV
“And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and while he slept, He pierce him in his side and took one of his ribs and closed up the cut. And with the rib the Lord God had taken from the man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.” Genesis 2:21-22 PAV
“But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.”
Genesis 2:21-22 was written as a prefigure or a prophecy of the passion of the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ and his work upon it in John 19.
The Apostle Paul refers to the Lord Jesus Christ as the Second and Last Adam. (1 Corinthians 15:45 & Romans 5:14) And logically if there was a first Adam and Eve, that makes Christ the Second and Last Adam, well then there has to be a Second and Last Eve. When was she presented to the Last Adam?
A Bride from His Side
Well, just as the Daddy God put the first Adam to sleep to bring forth his bride, He put the Last Adam to sleep upon the Cross of Calvary to bring forth his Bride. This is why the Bride is called “Ecclesia” meaning “called forth” or “called out”. She was called forth from within Christ. Or called out of Him. Called from His side to be His Bride. And all those that comprise of Bride were first called out of Him before the foundation of the world and before they were ever called out of sin.
“According as he hath Chosen Us In him Before the Foundation of the World, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:”
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given Us in Christ Jesus Before the World Began…”
2 Timothy 1:9
From His pierced side on the Cross of Calvary, it was the opening of the Door of Glory / Jesus Christ to bring out of Himself his glorious Bride.
“Now ye are the body of Christ , and members in particular.”
1 Corinthians 12:27
“This is the point, my brethren, we all have become dead to the law by the torn veil body of Christ; that we may be married to Him, the one who is raised from the dead, and now we all should bring forth fruit to Daddy God.”
Romans 7:4 PAV
So when Daddy God ripped the veil of the Temple he was really divorcing his wicked wife, natural Israel. And simultaneously He allowed the tearing of the Veil of the flesh of His Son to present to him a Bride, spiritual Israel, Ecclesia. (Jeremiah 3:8)
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved His Bride, Ecclesia, and gave himself for Her in his death…”
Ephesians 5:25 PAV
On the Cross He was dying so that she may come forth out of Himself.
Time Travel Back
Again! This is why baptism is not just an ordnance in the local assembly but a sacrament. A sacred monument where we plunge into the waters but spiritually we are put back into His pierced side and we become one with Him in His death and when we come out of the waters we are spiritually coming out of His pierced side and entering into resurrection life and glory with Him as his wife and we become one with him, flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone. (Gen. 2:23 & John 19:36)
“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection…”
“Buried with him in baptism , wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.”
“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
The waters of baptism takes us back into time and puts us in his side so that his body is torn to reveal us as his bride. As his pierced side is pouring out with blood and water this reveals the reality of the two great sacraments. By His life-giving Blood we receive in communion “drinking from His very pierced side” and the waters of baptism which is our participation in His life-giving death.
The Open Fountain
“In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.”
The open fountain prophesied in Zechariah is the pierced side of the Lord Jesus Christ in His passion of the Cross of Calvary and it is literally the forgiveness of sins and the regeneration of mankind that poured out from our Lord’s pierced side.
Matthew Henry’s Commentary on this verse is the following…“A fountain; for there is in them an inexhaustible fullness. There is mercy enough in God, and merit enough in Christ, for the forgiving of the greatest sins and sinners, upon gospel-terms. Such were some of you, but you are washed, 1 Cor 6:11. Under the law there were a brazen laver and a brazen sea to wash in; those were but vessels, but we have a fountain to ourselves, overflowing, ever-flowing. (Matthew Henry’s Commentary on the Whole Bible: New Modern Edition, Electronic Database. Copyright © 1991 by Hendrickson Publishers, Inc.)
Christ has become an open Fountain for all who desire to freely drink the waters of salvation and healing for their spirit, soul and bodies. (Isaiah 55:1; John4:14; Revelation 22:17)
During the feast of Passover He poured out the Cup of His life for the birthing and cleansing of His wife at His passion. At Pentecost He poured the Cup of His Spirit to empower His wife. And in 70 AD during the season of Day of Atonement He poured out the Cup of His Vengeance upon the Old Jerusalem and consummated salvation for His heavenly Bride, the New Jerusalem and enthroned her in the earth forever as His literal representative of His present Kingdom. (Numbers 28:7-10; Matthew 26:42; Acts 2; Galatians 4:21-31; Hebrews 9:28; Revelation chapters 18 & 21)
He Was Pregnant!
In Him, Jesus Christ was pregnant with us when he was dying on the Cross. Look at the following scripture …
“He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.”
The word travail in the Hebrew is the word “amal” and it means as a woman who is giving birth or in labor. He wasn’t just dying for our sins he was dying to birth us from Himself. The travail of his soul was you and I. A holy nation of kings and priest were born in one day. (Isaiah 66:8; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 1:5 & 6)
THIS IS THE REASON WHY HE WAS PIERCED IN HIS SIDE
We are called out from Him to reign along side with Him.
